Pain is subjective, but most clients describe the sensation as a quick pinch. We work swiftly and professionally to make the experience as comfortable as possible. Most people don't even noticed it's been done.

We offer nose, ear lobe, mid-helix, stacked lobe and cartilage piercings. We can pierce any area on the outer edge of your ear where space allows. If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to drop me a message.

NO! A piercing gun and a piercing instrument are completely different. 

A gun is spring-loaded which means it "shoots" the earring through the ear which is loud, painful and can cause un-necessary trauma to the skin. 

A piercing instrument is hand-pressured meaning it is gentle, quiet and a lot less painful. This allows for a smooth and quick piercing process.

At our studio, we use the Studex System 75 - a gentle, quiet, and virtually pain-free ear piercing system designed specifically for earlobe and cartilage piercings. This device is FDA medically approved. 

At Poise Studio, we use the Studex System 75, a gentle and hygienic method designed specifically for ear and nose piercings. Here’s what you can expect from the process:

1. Consultation: We’ll have a quick chat to go over your chosen piercing, jewellery options, and any questions you might have. We’ll also check your suitability for the treatment.
2. Consent & Preparation: You’ll fill out a consent form, and the area will be thoroughly cleaned. We then mark the piercing location for you to check and approve before proceeding.
3. The Piercing: Using the Studex System 75, the piercing is performed in one smooth, quiet motion. The system is gentle, sterile, and designed to be as comfortable as possible. It also uses pre-sterilised jewellery that is inserted automatically as part of the process.
4. Aftercare Advice: You’ll be given full aftercare instructions and advice, along with recommended products to help your new piercing heal beautifully.

We maintain the highest hygiene standards and aim to make the experience calm, safe, and stress-free from start to finish.

We only use implant-grade titanium, stainless steel, gold plated or 9ct gold for initial piercings to ensure safe healing and minimal irritation. You’ll be advised on the best option for your piercing.

We also stock hypo-allergenic earrings that you can wear after you have been pierced. These are all either gold plated or stainless steel.

All of our nose studs are made from high quality titanium.

Yes, our minimum age for ear piercing is 7 and for noses is 14. Anyone aged 16 and under must have a parent or legal guardian present at the appointment. You may also be asked to present a form of ID as proof of age, this can be a passport, driving licence or an identity card.

Healing times vary depending on where you were pierced and which after-care solution you have chose.

With the regular after-care solution-

Nose- 8 weeks

Ear Lobe- 6 weeks

Ear Cartilage- 12 weeks 

With the upgraded advanced after-care-

Nose- 6 weeks

Ear Lobe- 3 weeks 

Ear Cartilage- 8 weeks

We will go through all the after-care in detail at the end of your appointment. 

You must clean your piercing twice a day with the after-care solution provided and make sure you wash your hands before touching your new piercing.

We also recommend avoiding swimming and avoiding sleeping on your new piercing.

Everything will be covered with you.

No. We aren't able to pierce with jewellery you have brought in. We only use pre-sterilised, single-use cartridges. You are more than welcome to change your jewellery once your new piercing has healed. 

This must be assessed on a case-on-case basis. We may be able to re-pierce if there is no scar-tissue in the area. If there is scar-tissue, we can still re-pierce but the placement would not be in the exact same spot as the original piercing.

Again, this is assessed on a case-on-case basis. We have done many corrections from where people have been pierced elsewhere and they aren't even. We can only re-pierce if there is no scar-tissue and where space allows for a new piercing.
